Ticketindex.net – the biggest scam yet?

Well, here we are again! And frankly, we have to ask “Why?”
More than eight months ago this organisation warned the Police, Trading Standards and many, many members of the public who had contacted us asking “is it safe?” No! absolutely not – this was a contrived scam from the off. The Secondary Ticket Industry knew it, we knew it because we knew who was behind it and quite simply because the Industry knows who is buying tickets. Ticket Index were not, more importantly the proprietors were not. This, coupled with the fact that the events they were advertising were six or more months into the future had the Alarm Bells ringing and the lights flashing!
Let us look at the facts though, the website operator – David Spanton – had been arrested in 2006 for a similar type of operation. However, when the case came to court the whole prosecution fell apart. It fell apart because the Police, acting in good faith, arrested the website operator and owner BEFORE the event happened. Therefore, there were no ‘victims’ as Spanton successfully argued that if the Police had let him continue – he being a man who knew about the Ticket Industry – he would have been able to supply the tickets and therefore he argued that the Police had actually caused the issue – and he walked away.
We feel that in this instance, the Ticket Index debacle, the Police were fully aware of what was going on. We know that senior security officials had pleaded to have the website removed without success. It is our belief that the Police knew exactly what was going on but having experienced – on more than one occasion, with more than one individual – the horror of having their case collapse due to a lack of victims, this one was allowed to run and a bit of a standoff ensued with neither side willing to make the first move. The Take That concerts were always going to be the end. We even pinned the collapse down to a specific time frame as we knew what was happening.
Then the letter arrived – “Dear Customer, due to being let down by our supplier….” Well guess what? It isn’t going to work this time. If you are a ticket broker and you had been let down for a contract to supply you with Take That tickets at last years price – FABULOUS! Because right now the tickets are like confetti. There are so many of them on the market it is no problem at all to get them. Instead of last years prices you would have to pay up to 30% LESS for your stock. So that excuse just isn’t going to wash.
But that isn’t the end of it. Not by a country mile – We in the Industry know that they have sold thousands of Neil Diamond tickets, Adele tickets, Rihanna and the list goes on and on. This is going to make anything that has gone before look like amateur hour!

I have fell victim to this scam…but funnily enough not with ticket index, But with Goldstar tickets.

I purchased 5 take that tickets for tomorrow nights show in Manchester back in October….i recieved an email in April saying your tickets will be dispatched 10 days before the show, at this point i was thinking yes, this is looking good! then 5 days before nothing had turned up, i started to call them and they fobbed me off with the usual it’ll be dispatched tomorrow…kept calling multipul times a day. finally after losing my rag yesterday with them i was guaranteed we would recieve a tracking number so in time for the showing tomorrow. then….at 5.30 (once the office had shut) recieved an email saying they couldnt source our tickets and nothing we could do!!!

they must have known this all along and contnued to lie and give false guarantees! i put this on here as a warning to all…and make it known that goldtar tickets are conning fans in the same way ticket index are. Therefore I feel they should be highlighted also. it is a scam!!

  • Andrea Wardle:

I have paid for 4 V Festival tickets to the Ticketindex and attempted to ring to enquire as to the delivery schedule, alarm bells rang when I was not receiving a reply hence my further investigation via the internet, I am horrified to learn about this Company and have come to the realisation that the tickets will not be delivered, worse still they were for my daughters 16th birthday!
What on earth is wrong with this Country and the so called legal system, it is an absolute farce! and now due to the inability of the prosecution this THIEF has taken even more victims, including me it appears, so I think it is about time the legal system stopped pussyfooting around including the Government and took stock. I also think in this instance due to the prosecution service allowing this animal to continue to illegally take money from the public that they should refund all losses.

  • I brought 6 take that tickets in december from ticketindex.net for a concert in manchester last week,as you can guess they never turned up i have informed Action Fraud uk and got a crime referance number informed my credit card company who i paid with to get my money back thank god,i have phoned london ticket company as you cannot get through to ticketindex.net,a guy told me ticket index were going into receivership what a shock how much money have they made out of this scam

  • Mike Woodward:

I have purchased 5 tickets for Take that on June 12th at Manchester from Ticket Index.net, but reading what is now coming off the internet it doesnt look like we’ll be going. £550.00 down the pan.
If anybody knows where David Spanton resides (or hides) please let me know as I would like to ask him in person for a refund.

  • What a joker this guy is, I would give him a piece of my mind after spending 215.00 on Kasabian tickets for 8th June, which haven’t turned up surprise surprise. This website needs closing down and fast before this rat steals any more decent folks money – if anyone knows his address please send me it so I can pay some real money to get medieval on his sorry ass.

  • Please can anyone who has been conned by TICKETINDEX.NET call Action fraud uk hotline on 03001232040 and report it,the more people who report it the more evidence for the police to prosecute David Spanton and his Girlfreind Margaret Clarke lets get them behind bars…..

  • Same story.Purchased 2 TakeThat tickets for 10 June.Told they would be delivered 10 days prior to the event.Non arrival prompted me to try and contact them.No joy, telephone out of order, fax out of order no reply to e;mails and then you read the other horry stories of other people who have also been duped.Really puts you off buying anything on the internet. These people involved should be prosecuted and locked up

Something seriously wrong with our laws.

  • Phil:

Same sad story, my wife is the biggest Take That fan, I was so pleased I’d secured tickets for the 2nd July at Wembley, now similar to all the others i’ve read about it seems we’re not going. I am gutted, but not half as gutted as my poor wife.

  • Ronnie:

It appears from what I have read today I will not be going to see take that, I am so so upset and annoyed with myself for being so stupid. I work hard as a nurse but it appears honesty and hard work dont always pay after all.

  • Daryl:

I bought 2 tickets for take that 19/6/11 croke pk dublin, i am gutted to just find out i been scammed. These were a xmas present for my wife.I want to find that c**t DAVID SPANTON and put him away for a long time.

  • STEVE:

I purchased 2 VIP packages for my wife and daughter from this ticket index lot … needless to say they did not arrive !! No chance of contact via telephone or e mail, I will sort out the cash but cannot replace the disappointment!!!
Unbelievable they are still trading !!

  • william Henderson:

I am writing this on behalf of my Dad! He is really gutted that he will not be going to the take that concert! It is so horrid that these criminals can get away with doing this!!£500 done the pan! Crazy.

  • lucy:

Meant to be seeing Take That in Cardiff tomorrow night. Tickets not arrived and have now realised why, really disappointed as this was my Christmas present. Cant write in print what I would love to do to all of those involved in this scam.

  • Terry:

Paid for 4 x VIP tickets for Dublin for this sat take that tour not arrived and no contact Xmas pressi for my wife how can this be allowed to happen
    Ticket index what a scam

  • Gary:

Purchases Tickets in December for Take That on June 27th.
After reading other comments i am pretty sure i will not be receiving them. How can the Website still be allowed to be up and running continuing to take peoples money. If this was a shop the Police would have closed it down the same day.
If David and his Girlfriend read these reviews which is highly unlikely as they are probably relaxing on a beach somewhere with our money.I hope you meet one of your victims one day and get what you deserve.

  • penny andrews:

Totally ripped off for 2 tickets at £265 for Take that from ticket index.concert today! I thought I was going mad and alone on this when emailing & calling ticket index for last 2 weeks, with phone saying mail box full and unopened emails and letters! My only concern when initially booking this in November was when the woman at ticket index said she could not cfm seat or row numbers until May, as they block bought 15 rows of seats from the front.I actually asked how I had reassurance that they were a legitimate company & source! Web site looked expensive & impressive as it still looks today with loads of key artists featured! They have everyones card details now so every one is still at risk surely for further fraud!I am going to Watchdog this makes a great investigation to expose this scam and to help protect others. Please contact watchdog too!

  • I bought tickets for the monkees in January & when the tickets had not arrived, googled the company an realised they were crooks. I spent weeks ringing and emailing, kept getting promises made around couriers etc. 2 days before the concert, I had a shouting match down the phone with the girlfriend, and did eventually get a refund. I don’t know who to blame – the police? Trading standards? But why are so many people now (in my mind) victims of theft or fraud, when it seems the authorities have know abou these scammers for years? If it helps those who have lost money, I paid with a normal Nat west card, and was reassured by my bank that even though it wasn’t a visa credit card, just a debit card, as long as I properly reported it to the bank, they would have refunded me and sought to claim the m

  • stuart davie:

Bought 2 V.I.P. tickets for take that concert, to be held at Hampden park Glasgow on the 24th.June 2011, in November 2010. No sign of any tickets and the phone systems at Ticketindex are ‘surprisingly’ down! It’s a joke that the police are aware of Spanton’s activities yet are lying on bona fide customers being scammed before they will actually proceed with arrest! where is the justice for the victims of this t—–rs unscrupulous activity.

  • Lisa Shaw:

Back in november I bought 2 tickets to see Take That at Hampden Park, Glasgow on 24 June, as the tickets still not arrived and the concert only being one and a half weeks away I decided to email ticketindex and also tried to phone them and have had no reply. I then saw all the comments about this scam and I now cannot believe I have been ripped off !! It now looks highly unlikely that I will be going to see them. I am gutted !!!!!!!!

  • Teresa:

I bought 3 tickets on December 13th 2010 for Take That on Monday, 4th July from Ticketindex.com – for £290.00. Contacted them at the end of March to inform them of my change of address and spoke to a very pleasant lady who took down my new details. Thought I would give them a call on Monday,13th June to confirm when I was going to receive the tickets but could not get through on the phone it just kept saying mail box full which aroused my suspicions. After looking at their website which had not been updated since May 2011 also gave me some concern but noting that you could still buy tickets thought I would still keep trying to contact them by phone. It is now 3 days on and still no joy – then googled the name ticketindex.net and came upon this website – Thank goodness really because at least I know I am not going to get any tickets and have a chance to purchase some more for July or I will have 2 very upset nieces on my hands. Will have to contact my credit card company tonight and see if I am insured and to stop these disgusting people from taking any more of my money and I will also be contacting the Trading Standards Association and Watchdog too.

  • michael ruck:

I like thousands of others have no tickets after ordering and paying “ticketindex”.
I dont want to repeat what you have all commented on regarding David Spanton and his girlfriend.
My first reaction his the great disappointment of the special treat and gift to my wife, secondly there is a good chance i will be refunded by my bank after their investigation into “ticketindex” (i hope all of you receive your hard earnt money – savings etc back, from this appalling scam)
It would be so nice if Take That performed another concert to those of us who have lost out to this scam, but also had their money returned so that we may denote our payment to a charity of their choice. There must be thousands of us who would attend this one off concert and cheer us all up, wherever it may be. Any ideas anybody!

  • sue:

David Spanton has been arrested. He was arrested last week by the City of London police. He is still in custody. I for one lost £625.00 with his Take That scam. I hope he is put away this time for a long time. May you rot in hell Mr Spanton.

  • My husband bought tickets for Take That at Hampden Park for 23 June for my birthday. Still haven’t received tickets. The telephone number on the email confirmation (tickets were bought in March 2011) is no longer available and nothing on website. Looks like we could also be caught up in this scam.

  • Danny:

Hi all ive been scammed by ticketindex.net also i bought 4 tickets
for the rihanna concert at the secc in October of this year whiich i paid theese dirty animals £283.00. why are theese people allowed to do this. just hope they get caught and brought to justice….. SCUM

  • Nichola:

I purchased 4 X V Festival tickets in March from Ticketindex.net and only due to the recent bad press re Take That’s tickets with regards this company that i attempted to contact them, the phones didnt work and no response from an email enquiry. Today I have attempted to access the website and it has now disappeared off the internet. I have registered my concerns on the Fraud website and as i paid by credit card i am hoping i will get my money back but i am gutted that i might have potentially lost £905! and even more gutted that my son and his mates will not get the weekend they have been looking forward to for so long.

  • ali:

I paid £875 for 6 take that tickets for 2nd july 2011 for some clients from ticket index. Thier website is now down and after reading your article i realize i have probably lost my money.

  • I too have been scammed, not by Ticket index, but by Gold Star Tickets, I had booked 2 tickets to see Take That in cardiff on June the 15th.

Needless to say, I had paid for my tickets as far back as last november, and of course the money was taken out of my account, but the day before the concert, I received an email, after 5.30pm when they had conveniently gone home, to be told that they had no tickets to send me !!!!
I was totally gutted !!! and very upset.
To make matters worse, i had also booked a room at a guest house, of which I had to cancel and pay the full amount, even after I had explained the circumstances, so I lost money there as well !!!
Never, ever trust Gold Star Tickets, read their reviews by other customers who have also been ripped off…….!!!!

  • Karen:

Looks like I have been scammed, I bought 3 tickets to see the Foo Fighters at MIlton Keynes, a 16th Birthday present for my daughter!!!

  • My husband brought me 2 VIP tickets from ticketindex.net costing £450 – needless to say the tickets never arrived – I have reported this to action fraud and have a crime number and now going to try recover the money from the bank – I was very disturbed to see the website was still up and running and still scamming people – My son reported this to the hosting site and the website now seems to have been removed. How can scum get away with scamming money out of innocent people who work hard to earn an HONEST living – It appears this David Stanton has been doing it for the last 20 years – This man needs locking up !!!!

  • Caryl:

Several weeks ago I booked tickets for the Neil Diamond concert through what I thought was the o2 website. (We’d not experienced any problems when we booked the Tina Turner concert this way a year or so back).
No surprise – when I tried to find out what had actually happened to the tickets as July is fast approaching, I was informed by o2 that I had probably been the victim of a scan. I wasn’t even aware I had booked through TicketIndex, believing it to have been entirely an o2 operative.

It is annoying that we seem to have no alternative than to either place our trust in the o2 website and it’s seemingly authentic links or go in person to the booking office – not alway a convenient option.

  • I have also been took in by these horrible people.. I purchased two foo’s tickets and still not recieved them :-( i contacted my bank 1 week ago and also action fraud when i got wind of what was happening!!! Luckly i have purchased from else where so im out of pocket until bank come back with money for me.

  • Faye:

I also purchased 2 Take That tickets for July 5th and have not recieved them!!!!Disgusting.
My friend is flying over from Spain…I just hope that I can get my money back via Barclaycard!!!!!

  • In March i purchased 4 v-festival tickets on behalf of my daughter and her 3 friends, these youngster are 17 yr olds and work hard for their money and saved up for these tickets costing £225.00 (total £905). I even e-mailed ticket index and asked them to guarantee these tickets and i got a e-mail back full of reassurance. Today i don’t know why but i chased them up, not reply from e-mail, not able to get response on phone and not able to access on internet so contacted Action Fraud who will report to police and informed me that this evil man had been arrested. They gave me good advise and even tho we only used a Visa Debit card my bank informs me i am covered. The disappointment for these kids cannot be resolved. Lets get these scum bags locked up for a long time.

  • kelly:

my boyfriend had bought us two tickets for the v festival costing £350 of ticket index. this is ment to be taking part in august. we have not recieved the tickets and the site is a complete scam which is now not available to access on the internet. any ideas on how we can get are money back?? they were bought of a debit card :(

  • JEAN:

I have also lost £235 on the TT scam. I paid by credit card and so I hope to have the money refunded. I have reported this and urge others to do the same. These people cannot be allowed to keep doing this.

  • rex:

Hi, have just been informed by E–mail from above that the tickets ordered last November for the That That concert in Glasgow24/06/11 will not be available, this is no surprise considering the horror stories, that I have read on-line. These tickets were booked by my wife for our daughter, my daughter looked up this company, and informed us that they appeared to be very unreliable in there issue of tickets. Can I please ask after reading about this company my daughter, purchased further tickets of E-bay for the same concert, and received them three weeks ago, so how can someone at Goldstar explain to me that they have not received there allocation of tickets two days before the event. This company has no right to lie to people, and take there hard earned money, many have also booked hotels and will be further out of pocket. I will get my money back through my credit card company, but many will not, this company needs to be closed down, for its empty promise for these events, I with others will go through Trading standards watchdog, and any other media to bring to attention about this scam company.

  • Amanda:

I bought 2 tickets for the Foo Fighters back in November 2010 for the concert on 2nd July at the Milton Keynes Bowl – only 2 dates they are doing in the UK and ticketindex.net have ripped us off – £140 down the drain. I have reported it to Action Fraud and have been given a crime number – but it seems as though this guy has done this many times – karma is a funny thing, I hope it comes when you are least expecting it and you get what you deserve. To kelly, message about debit card -if you go on the Action Fraud website it tells you how you may be able to get your money back on your debit card – it may take a bit of wrangling with your bank but have a read of what it says – I am goig to try and get my money back this way.

  • Viv Barratt:

Have just discovered that I have lost £355 by being ripped off by these fraudsters – this was for 2 tickets for Neil Diamond on 4 July at MEN Arena purchased on EBay in February – plus I have bought 2 rail tickets for travel to Manchester as well as a hotel for the night for my sister and I so we could have a great time watching Neil. What a joke! Thanks to these low lives a wonderful time is now ruined. These tickets were supposedly for front row seats and would have been the best we have ever had in over 40 years of going to Neil’s concerts (every 3 years he visits). I am at a loss as to how I am going to explain this to my sister. The only good news is that Ipaid by Mastercard so hopefully the bank can help. I will be reporting this to the Action fraud hotline as well as Ebay although this will bring small comfort as I doubt that these people will probably never receive the retribution they deserve.

  • Hi
Just recognized that I will also not get my 2 tickets for Take That 2nd of July which I ordered and paid in December at Ticketindex.net. I live in Switzerland so it looks that I lost 570 GBP…
I tried to make a report at the Action Fraud Hotline, but I was forwarded to another site – maybe because I am not living in the UK – very disappointing.
I want to report it to the police – ideally in UK (I can only check tomorrow wth my bank and lawyer how to react from here) – can someone let me know if I can do it Online or need I to go to the police while I visit the UK?

  • So Sick. How do people get away with this. No take that tickets for myself and daughter in law.

  • Mel:

My partner purchased 2 VIP tickets @ £450 for Take That in July at Wembley. We now realise that we will not have any tickets my daughter will be so disappointed it was her birthday present. I have reported this to Action Fraud UK I suggest the more people who do this we may have a chance of putting these disgusting people behind bars.
This sort of practice must not continue.

  • Emma:

I too brought a V ticket from these horrible scum and after a phone call to action fraud and my bank I was told David spanton has been arrested and is on bail and the more ppl who contact action fraud regardless if ur event has gone or is in the future the more chance he will be sentenced . My bank said I will definitely not receive anything and I am very lucky that I will be getting my money refunded by them so I can try and get another ticket , everybody get reporting and get this b@@@@@d behind bars !!

  • Mhairi:

You should all be able to get your money back from banks, I bought 2 V festival tickets and found out ticketindex.net doesn’t exist anymore, I quickly contacted my bank who are now arranging a refund for me, through something called VISA Chargeback.

  • Martin:

I am more than frustrated and disappointed. I purchased three tickets for Take That at Wembley this Saturday, 2nd July as a gift for my wife. I have not received them. As you can imagine, my wife was excited and really looking forward to the event. Is terrible and would love to seek a way to recoup the funds lost.

  • Paul:

I called to see when my Foo Fighter tickets (MK Bowl 2nd July)would be delivered to find the number dead and then checked to find the website was down. I purchased them back in November and contact them by E-mail in February as I moved address and would want them sending to my new address. I got another confirmation e-mail back saying that this would be done, so then thought nothing more about it till now. feel so stupid at being sucked in and embarassed at letting down two friends who I bought the tickets as a Christmas Present. If anyone find this please hold on to him till I get there.

  • Jan:

I bought 2 x tickets, from TicketIndex.net, last December, to see Take That at Wembley on 4 July 2011. This was a 50th birthday present for my dear friend. One week before the event and the tickets have still not arrived. I sent an email to them which was returned “undelivered”. Their website is unavailable. I then did a google search on the company and, to my horror, discovered how many others have been ripped off by this scam. People were in a rush to get the tickets before they sold out and expect the agents selling them to be legitimate. These awful people are preying on ordinary folk.

  • DEREK DEAMER:

2 tickets for my wifes birthday have not arrived and when I looked up the website it had gone, why did the police not shut this site down before we all booked our tickets, now my wife who is supposed to be going to Take That has no tickets and no birthday present – scum!!!!

  • I would totally encourage everyone who has fallen victim of this fraud to report it, get a Crime Reference Number and attempt to recoup the money from your bank/CC company. You can either call 03001232040 or visit http://www.actionfraud.org.uk. This is very quick and simple and will really ensure that this spineless individual gets exactly what is coming to him.

    Good luck!!!

  • I bought 8 tickets for £605 back in November to Take That, 5 of which a work colleague bought from me. My husband had paid for the rest for my 30th Birthday. Needless to say no tickets arrived and no present for my 30th. Really gutted. I have reported this to action fraud and am waiting for refund through credit card. Only problem being to pay back my work colleagues I have to take cash from my credir card for which I will be charged. Not impressed!

  • Roz:

I too have been duped by Ticketindex. Bought 4 x TT tickets last Dec for Monday’s concert at Wembley. Thank god bought by credit card so will receive refund. Have managed to get 4 tickets for same concert on Soldout.com. Have used them before so fairly confident but until I have tickets in my hand will worry. Agree that we must all report our experiences to the correct ppl to get these people prosecuted.

  • Emma:

I have just tried to contact ticketindex as getting worried that our tickets have not arrived, only to be directed to a load of websites saying it’s all a scam? Like everyone else I imagine, I was so excited to finally get to buy the tickets and paid a lot more than usual – especially as it was a christmas present to my 2 daughters – Shocked and angry doesn’t come close, have contacted the bank and only hope they can help recoup the money…but as for my girls – what a bunch of rotten b*****ds!

  • steve:

i bought 3 tickets for my wife, mother and auntie to see dolly parton in cardiff on the 3 sept 11 and i have like so many others been ripped of by this low life, piece of s..t, i have contacted the bank and i will get my money back, also i contacted the action fraud helpline so they can pass the info onto the police to help in the prosecution, we have all learnt a big lesson here.

  • Jacqueline:

Just found out that I am also not getting my Take That tickets from Tickentindex for the 4th July. paid more than I would usually for tickets as taking my daughter as a present have lost over £350. There must be way to stop these things happening. Have contacted my bank and action fraud but dont hold out much hope – No money and No Tickets – feel sick!!!

  • I purchased tickets for my husband and son as Xmas prezzies to see Rush – I was heartbroken for my husband and son who were so so looking forward to the gig when the tickets didn’t arrive.

when i spoke to Action Fraud they were brilliant and informed me that the address for TicketIndex advertised hasn’t even got TicketIndex registered as a company for that address.

I tried in vain to see what happened to the tickets, before the gig, but was fobbed off continually the last time I call I had a woman being extremely rude to me when i asked for my money back and she put the phone down on me. I believe in Karma – they’ll get their karma one day.

  • Gail W:

I am rather ashamed to say that I was caught by the ticket index scam and lost £295 from my account for tickets to see Eric Clapton at the Royal Albert Hall. We had also purchased train tickets and hotel accomodation for two nights in London so even tho we were sure we wouldnot get the tickets we still had to pay more than £400 for the rail and hotel and felt that would be more money to lose! I am soooooooo angry that these people could do this and feel rather violated. I have changed my bank account details and card number as the fear is always there that they could still access my account! I consider my self as an intelligent person and really cannot believe I let them get me! I will never buy tickets on line again I cant afford to lose this money!

  • Rebecca Boorman:

I bought a ticket to see Pulp this coming weekend but have just found out I’ve been defrauded by the above scum. So this week, my Mum’s been ill in hospital, my gran died, my dog died, and now I don’t even have the brief respite of being able to relax at a gig I’ve been looking forward to for months. Thanks you heartless, cold-hearted bastard.

  • Serena:

If I could get hold of this man I would wring his neck. My son 17 year old son purchased tickets for the Reading Festival for £245 to celebrate his 18th and it was my husband who decided to look on Ticketindex website and surprise surprise its not there. Its a hard lesson for a full time student to learn but I too think that if everyone contacts action fraud and report their crime the more evidence the police will have. Feel for all those who have bought Reading tickets and have no idea that they have no tickers

  • Steve Parry:

I thought I had bought 2 tickets to see Neil Diamond on 9 July at 02, back in February, now looks highly, highly unlikely that my wife and I will now be attending this concert. Booked train tickets and hotel for the weekend. Lost £195 on concert tickets alone, absolutely gutted. I will definitely be contacting Action Fraud, let’s get this guy and his wife/girlfirend dealt with aso they cannot do this to anyone else.

  • i bought two foo fighters ( well i thought i did ) from the rip off merchants last november. 160 quid down the drain. lets hope my bank give me the money back.

  • i brought 2 tickets for take that for 2 july last sep from ticket index yes ripped off , hope they get there comeupans dirty scamming barstards !!!!!!!!!!!1 payed with credit card should get refund though !!!!!

  • Knocker:

Bought 2 x V festival tickets from Ticketindex back in April for my son and friend at a cost of £450.00. As they were bought using my Mastercard I called them today to explain the situation, they where well aware as they had been inundated with calls regarding Ticketindex / London Ticket Brokers (same thing) so will get a full refund, but will have to wait until after the concert date in August to make a claim.

When I first became aware that Spanton was running a scam I called at their so called offices in Hatton Garden to find?…… no such offices exist.

This time I think Spanton will do prison but I hope that tart of his goes down with him, but everyone who has been scammed MUST call Action Fraud, the more calls means a longer stretch for the toerag……his face is on the internet, you may to bump into him in a pub after a copuple of years?

  • I purchased tickets for Take That back in October last year on Gold Star Tickets, and also want to offer a word of warning as I have now realised that it was nothing but a scam. Yesterday, I received an email saying that they were not able to locate the tickets, and we will not be receiving them, and can expect a refund in 14 days.

I had also been calling their so called customer services number all throughout the day, and was just greeted by an answering machine. Three emails throughout the day were also ignored by them.

To start off with, they should not be selling tickets, and confirming a booking when they do not actually have the tickets. And as they have our money, we would not even be able to buy tickets from a legitimate site now in time for the event.

I have read countless reviews by people who state they never received the refund from this site. I also know someone personally who never received their money back, but luckily booked on a credit card so was able to be compensated this way.

In short – do not purchase tickets from Gold Star Tickets, as it will give you nothing but disappointment.

  • Lesley Rogers:

OMG what a fool I feel!!! Brought my daughter and myself 2 Take That Tickets back in Novembr for her Xmas Gift. No chance on the phone the day the Tickets went on sale, so checked other sites and their reviews. Found 2 on Ticket Index sounded OK so paid £200 for the 2 tickets. Confirmation received and waited and waited. Other people getting their tickets for the same show (5th July) weeks ago got worried went on Ticket Index site Monday morning and surprise surprise the news that greeted me!!!! Worse bit was telling my daughter we couldnt go!!!!! These people should not be allowed to get away with this. Makes me so cross and angry but what can we do!!! No tickets and £205.00 out of pocket. They are scum.

  • Purchased 2 tickets for Neil Diamond 4th July
Guess i have been duped like everyone else
Lost £180 – really glad i bought the cheap seats
Booked a hotel too so still going to Manchester for a night out
May meet some of you there!

  • I think I have been caught too – booked 4 x dolly parton tickets for 2nd September – cost 315.00 – no tickets received yet – thought I would telephone to check, telephone number discontinued, no website to be found? – a valuable lesson not to order anything via the internet – it is not 100% safe – trying to sort out money with bank but not hopeful of getting refund at this stage – the person behind this will one day tread on a rake – hope its mine!

  • Rachel:

I have been ripped off too – £325 for 4 x foo fighters tickets. I’ve reported to this completely disgusting rip off to http://www.actionfraud.org.uk. I hope the guy gets strung up!

  • Steve F:

I have been ripped off too…they’ll be getting ready at the Bowl now and we won’t be there due to that *&%$ and I hope he gets strung up too! I do not know if the Foos will play again here and for that I wish I could get my hands on him. He will get what is coing to him regardless. Have reported him to action fraud as well.

  • Lisa:

Stupidly enough i have only just realised the scam that has taken place as don’t use the web that much!!!

bought rhianna tickets for october for £160 and to my horror the website is no longer available and the telephone number is dead !!!

absolutley gutted and if i do get my money back from my bank i will try and get tickets on a reptuable website

  • Bev:

Bought two Neil Diamond tickets in March, front row seats!!!! sadly paid on my debit carD so looks like I wont see my £370.00
    THIS NEEDS TO STOP NOW.

  • stacey:

I bought two tickets to see Adele at the Apollo in Manchester for the 17th September. For some unknown reason I went on the Ticketindex website yesterday as I wanted to put in my reference number to find out when tickets will be posted.
To my utter horror, realized it was a SCAM site, even tried to send them an email but it came straight back.

Have reported it to Fraud – telephone number 0300 1232040 and they knew straight away about this so called company. Now don’t get to see Adele as all tickets are sold out :-(

  • rick:

    Very angry !! £190 ripped off . ( 2 x Neil Diamond tickets )
I shall be reporting to the police – action and court is neccessary.
I will get my money back – beleive you me !

  • Jane:

Bought tickets from Ticketindex.net at christmas for The Script. The company were fanastic, phoned me to tell me that the tickets were being sent out by special delivery. So, understandably I had no concerns when I purchased 2 V Fest tickets for £450. Today I phoned them to see where the tickets are and what a nasty, heartbreaking surprise I have had.

  • Jane:

I bought tickets at christmas to see The Script in march. I received the tickets with no problems, they even called me to say the tickets were on their way by special delivery. So understandly, I had no concerns about buying 2 V festival tickets from them in march costing £455. Gutted to now find out that this a nationwide fraud. I have reported it to actionfraud.org.uk and been given a crime reference. I urge anyone reading this to do the same. Hopefully, the bigger case built against him, the bigger punishment.

  • Claire:

I booked my daughter a ticket for V Festival for 20th Aug 2011 which she saved up and paid for herself. Obviously reading all the other comments i now know she won’t be going and has lost her £230. Is there anything that can be done to obtain a refund!! Just need to pluck up the courage to tell her now that her planned weekend with friends is not going to happen.

  • lisa:

I bought me and my gf Blink 182 tickets back in November costing £115 , never came … gutted! i hope i get my money back, robbing t**t

  • Anne:

I too have to join all of you who have been scammed. Not only I bought two tickets to see Adele, but also flights from Finland to come to London (for two). Initially I got replies to my e-mails and also managed to speak to someone, she was rude alright and it was very obvious she was not happy to talk.Since then no reply to e-mail and phoneline is dead.
I hope these people get their punishment. The unfortunate reality is that nothing can help with the disappointment. Grrrrrr….

  • Karen Pearson:

    Feel sick to my stomach,
Not because I have been conned by Ticket Index for Take That in Hamburg 22.07.11
But, for the fact that call center agents sit behind their computers/telephones and can blatently lie to people whilst taking our cash with the other hand, fully aware they are fleecing people…Flights, hotels and tickets all cost money hard earnt money by people who make an honest living, I hope these people are brought to justice for those of you who work for these people, “how do you live with yourselves” you are equally as dishonest/slimey as your employers my only satisfaction being is the money you earnt deceiving thousands brings you misery or is taken from you in an equally dispicable manner, you don’t deserve a brass farthing of it.. Mr & Mrs Ticket Index rot in hell..

  • Joanna Higgo:

I also purchased tickets in Sept’10 for my daughter and myself for the Amsterdam, Take That Concert ..TODAY . Booked flights , hotels etc. I have emailed Ticketindex on two occasions giving my address for the tickets and needless to say heard nothing and guess what? NO TICKETS. Not only sad but a huge expense all round which was meant to be the most fantastic treat HOW can people be so dishonest ??? and I suppose we don’t have a leg to stand on ??

  • Malcolm Hunt:

Tickets bought for £200 in January for james Taylor concert O2 July 15th. Goldstar Tickets too the money, kept saying tickets were being printed or in the post, or about to be posted. 24 hours before the concert an e mail arrived to say they had no tickets. This is FRAUD, they took money held it for 6 months when they did not have the goods, miselling fraud. They should be prosecuted, bunch of crooks, DO NOT BUY anytjing from them!

  • Just found out that I have been conned… Thought I had purchased 2x iron madien tickets for 28th July 2011. TICKETINDEX.NET has a lot to answer for! I realized there was something wrong when I tried to email them & suprise suprise it was an invalid email address. Its my 2 young sons who i feel sorry for who had saved out of their own money for this…
Anyone out there who has been ripped off PLEASE REPORT it to http://WWW.actionfraud.org.uk or phone 0300 1232040. The more people report this the better the chance we have of getting this scum caught & delt with.
I will only deal with a trusted firn now ie- ticket master no matter how hard it is to get tickets for events.

  • Bonnie Waldron:

i have just found out i have been scammed by this low life, i thought i had purchased 4 tickets for Iron Madien on 31st July, to the sum of £215, tried to get hold of ticketindex and surprise surprise website, email all closed down, I feel bad for my son they were for his 16th birthday. They are the scum of the earth.

  • P:

Hi, I was also scammed by ticketindex.net. BUT there is a way to get your money back. I paid for it over 6 monthss ago in october WITH a debit card. i went to my bank, Santander, and was a bit persistent. The key i think to this is that you have to mention the “chargeback scheme” which covers your debit card, read up on it first though. I don’t think many of the junior members are aware of this as I talked to one of them who just put me on the phone to customer services after I had already spoken to them and they said it can only be disputed if the transaction went through in the last 6 months. once i had spoken to someone with a bit of authority who made a couple of phone calls, i was given a reference number if i wanted to chase it up. i received a letter through the post today saying that i have been refunded…all in the space of about 4 working days. but yes, also report it to actionfraud like i did as they will send out some paperwork where u would need to put details like a crime ref number down.

Hope this helps a lot of you guys out there :)

  • Carol:

Booked 6 Private Box tickets in February 2011 for Adele at the BIC Bournemouth 5th Sept 2011 fpr £410.00 as we have not received them rang the no given to find out no such no and after investigation found it all to bwe a scam only consulation is that we paid by credit card and are insured but very upset not to be going

  • mark:

    bollox!!
I payed £115 in total for 2 £35 tickets to see The Specials in October, to this mob!!
Tried to email and phone them, and surprise surprise neither exsists!
Luckily it was on credit card, so copies of booking forms are on their way to my bank for a full refund.

  • K:

Ditto Carol. We also booked eight tickets for Adele in Bournemouth and no sign of them. Only just discovered this was a scam website so gutted, especially since we thought we’d been so careful to use a bona fide site.

  • Joan Whitby:

I purchased 3 Dolly Parton tickets in May. It’s now 3 September and the concert is on 11 September and I haven’t received the tickets. I’ve just looked on the website and found out that ticketindex are a scam. How is this site able to operate, under the same name, when it’s well documented that they are fake?

    Thanks.

    Joan Whitby

  • I am so upset finding this website as I now realise that I won’t be seeing Adele at the Royal Albert Hall in September. To say I’m gutted is an understatement. It was a special treat for me and my husband. Hopefully we will get the cost refunded from credit card company, but would rather have gone to concert. Hope they get lengthy prison sentences.

  • angus kerr:

Just found this website and also cannot find ticket index anywhere, suppoosed to be seeing Adele at the Edinburgh playhouse, also an aniversary present, gutted!

  • Patsy:

I was so shocked to find out about the true facts about this company but only after I had purchased 2 adele tickets at Manchester. The booking website appeared so real and now I feel a right mug, the only alarms bells that rung were when I rang up and then emailed for a refund about a week after purchasing and they replied to my email telling me they didn’t do refunds. So disappointed that I wont be seeing Adele.

  • Lizzie:

I have realised to my horror that the four tickets for Adele this Saturday are not ever going to appear. I am so gutted and angry that someone can do this and to so many people. Why be so horrible. I now have to tell my friends that we will not be going and I and they will be so so disappointed. Looking forward to this since I bought them in February. He has had my money all that time – now to fight with the credit card company. Thanks.

  • Jo:

Looks like we have been caught out by this scam as well. Can’t believe it as we use the internet loads and have never been caught out like this!My husband bought 2 tickets for Adele in March as a birthday present for me. We are due to see her at the O2 Academy in Newcastle on the 14th September, but it doesn’t look like we will now! Gutted doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel.
I will be reporting this to action fraud.
PLEASE REPORT it to http://WWW.actionfraud.org.uk or phone 0300 1232040. The more people report this the better the chance we have of getting this scum caught & delt with.

  • I purchased 2 tickets to see Adele in Wolverhampton way back in February. No tickets for me because of this robbing sh#t! I am more annoyed at myself actually as I bought them using my HSBC debit card, so probably no refund AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!! No Adele and 120 quid down :-(

  • Rachel:

My Fiance bought us 2 tickets to see Alan Carr in November 2011 and we just saw all the websites warning about ticket index! We are so f*****g angry that this has happened and to so many other people! We will be reporting this to action fraud but our country seriously needs a better system for horrible s***s like David spanton or whoever he is! Just wondered if people had to cancel their card after giving their details over the internet? Have people managed to get their money back even after long periods of time?

  • Sean:

I purchased two VIP Rihanna tickets from this company for my partner’s birthday, and have had no response from them at all, now the website has gone down. How is this still being allowed to happen in this day and age, it’s totally disgusting. I urge everyone to contact the police and report these serious crimes. I hope they catch him and chop his f**king hands off.

  • Paddy:

I bought 4 tickets for Rihanna in Belfast 1st Oct, guess what no tickets arrived yet and web site, emails and phone numbers all not working, looks like company doesn’t exist anymore

    I filed a fraud report at http://WWW.actionfraud.org.uk

and also contacted my bank to seek refund as I paid by visa in March 2011 so hopefully will get my money back

    Scum bags indeed!

  • Bought 2 tickets for Adele for tomorrow (17september) back in February at Manchester Apollo from Ticket Index , price £135 ..Now realise it’s a scam so have contacted credit card company. Think I saw this advertised by Ticket Index in either the Sunday Times or the Telegraph-assumed it was genuine

  • Phil Crosby:

I have purchased two tickets for Adele on 22nd Sep and now realise that I have been scammed, I was taking my daughter for her 10th birthday ..what a shit this guy David Spasnton is I would certainly like to meet him and rip his head off.anyone know his details?

  • CB Conoboy:

Knew it was too good to be true when I got 2 tickets for Adele last April for this coming Saturday at Usher hall edinburgh ! I’m dissapointed as it was a friends birthday present ! Hope they nail this guy for all the fraud and hassle he’s caused people ! Scum Bag of a person ! I’ll need to call the bank and see if I can get my money back !

  • C Summers:

We have tickets booked for Rhianna through ticket index, next month, take it i wont be going. What a nasty piece of work. Hope I can get my money back.

  • G Lowther:

Wondered why the Rhianna tickets had not arrived as only 6 days to go to concert at the O2, so tried to e-mail ticketindex.net and mail bounced. Checked web site – gone!
This is a TOTAL SCAM and Mr Spanton deserves everything that he will get real soon – a lengthy jail term for fraud. I’ll be supplying evidence. In the meantime, I guess I’ll have to contact my credit card company and of course gently let down the ladies in my life who were really looking forward to going to this concert.

  • P Flynn:

Similar circumtances – bought tickets in Feb, then thought better and tried to request them be sent – was sent emails saying would be with them first 8 weeks before event then4 weeks before – but either way would be shipped approx 10 days before event.

I hope that this individual and very obviously the whole team behind this scam are found guilty of fraud.

Sandra Rogers – is the name of the person who returned emails regarding the delivery – hopefully someone can pass this information on to the correct authorities.

Can anyone help me regarding who to log this fraud with?

  • Just found out I won’t be getting the tickets I bought back in January for the Rihanna concert at the SECC in Glasgow on Monday 10th October. Wondered why the tickets hadn’t arrived so thought I’d give them a phone only to get a disconnected tone. Starting to worry, I tried to find their website and discovered to my horror that I had been conned out of £185. Three very disappointed kids. First thing tomorrow I’ll be contacting my bank to see about getting my mone back.

  • Carol:

Just like E Voy, I have just found out that the Rihanna tickets I bought last year as a present for my son and daughter-in-law for tomorrow night’s performance were just a scam. There are no tickets – so £295 down the drain. My son is furious that I’ve been conned (thankfully not bothered by the fact he won’t be seeing Rihanna after all) and I’m devastated that they won’t be enjoying the night out they were looking forward to so much.
What do I do now? Is it worth reporting them to the police or whoever??? Now I’m starting to get angry . . . . .

  • Shaun:

I purchased 2 tickets for George Michael concert at the end of this month. Tried to phone Goldstar Tickets, the phone system is out of action. Emailed asking questions and received a reply, little hope of getting these tickets. £350.00!!!!!

  • Desna Fielding:

Sorry to say I am yet another who fell pray to ticketindex. £190 for 2 Rihanna tickets, luckily paid by Visa so just filling in the forms for my bank – Unfortunately though they want prood I tried to resolve with ticketmaster – what a joke – not a trace of them.

  • Lynn:

Me too. 2 VIP tickets £215, for my daughter’s 16th bday to see Rhianna on 5th october. Never turned up. Tried everything to contact ticketindex, email was sent back by postmaster. Can’t claim back because paid by debit card. Very upset daughter. Me furious they are still getting away with it and robbing people of hard earned money. Disgusting.

  • Amy:

Well dont i feel like a fool. Started to get worried when my 2 Katy Perry tickets for £90 did not arrive so I looked into the website only to find that it was a scam. Cant claim anything back now as i bought them by debit card 10 months ago. Just wish i had looked into them more before handing over my money, and as a student i dont really have much of it to spare.

  • ashlie:

i waited two years for my birthday present how could they those selfish selfcentered devils/demons

  • simon:

Gold Star Ticket – Never Again!
We paid 338 GBP for 2 tickets back in May, and one week before departure, in October, we had still not received the tickets. With the money lost, the tickets nowhere… Beware, Gold Star Ticket is a scam!

  • James:

Like everyone else, I have had the same experience with http://goldstartickets.co.uk/ Company. Please NEVER purchase Tickets from http://goldstartickets.co.uk/ I bought tickets 4 months ago for a game. Actual Price of per ticket is $75.00 tickets and they charged me $270.00 for a ticket but i paid for those tickets. Five Days before the game I emailed to the owner FANCIS STRUTT of for my tickets and he replied supplier was having a problem. The day after tomorrow I called them again but no response from their side. It’s quite frustrating for me. This was the horrible experience with a ticket agency and WILL NEVER USE Goldstar Tickets Services.
